Unable to find location

I am a Shell Vacation Club member. One of the services that this timeshare offers is free membership into RCI. What you are not told is that Shell Vacation members are low man on the totem pole. I was told that I should transfer all my point out of Shell and into Marriott timeshare (all the same family) for a small dollar amount $20k if I ever want to use RCI. I guess I won't use RCI. It's what they don't tell you until after they got you are the problem. If I wasn't into this so deep I would dump Marriott / SVC or any of its family members. DON'T BUY FROM THEM.

Shell Vacations is owned by Wyndham Resorts. Marriott is a separate timeshare system.

RCI is owned by Wyndham also. Mariott should not be part of your problem with RCI

Loss of deposit and points with cancellation of reservation

I had to cancel reservation due to Covid and high risk status. Initially when I tried to cancel I was told I had to wait until 30 days prior. So I waited until a month prior, which was the middle of September and this time was told that a change had been made- if you didn't cancel by September 7th, you forfeited your deposit and some points. I was never notified of this policy change and find it unfair to be penalized for something I was never informed of.

Injveerness By The Sea Galveston, Texas. Don't Go!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We had two 2 bedroom units for the week of Nov.24 - Dec1st. We have been in timeshares all over the world for over 30 years. This was the worst place we have ever encountered and the first time I have complained. The first unit (103) was overall not clean so we asked they come back as we only had a broom. Then we found the place was infested with German roaches. The dishes had roach dropping on them and all the drawer had dropping and were dirty. We sealed all our food but anytime we opened a drawer roaches would be running. They were on my things in the bathroom. I was born in Florida so am not a bug nut. In addition, the smoke alarm had been removed and put on a counter. The burner on the stove didn't work and several lights were burned out. These units were to house 6 people and there were 5 hangers in the entire unit. The tub rocked when you stepped in it and the grout was moldy but had been grouted over but you could still see the mold under it. After two days, we asked to be moved to another unit(101) which we checked before moving all our supplies and clothes. The other unit we had was (103). We had small children so chose that one because we were told it had just been steamed cleaned because there had been a service dog in there previous to us. But when we sat on the chair and couch we found there were wet. The cleaning lady brought us bed mattress pads to put on the furniture to keep our clothes dry. There were no hangers in the unit at all. Vent in bathroom was very noisey, Dog hairs were still all over and the closet in the bathroom began to smell like something had died in it. The shower door handles on all units were gone but the sharp ends were still there. On the 5th day the air conditioner stopped working and when they couldn't fix it the family with two small children(port. crib, child mattress, etc. had to move to (107). Units had a dryer that didn't work but no washer???? The units had old carpet squares that were dirty and edges turned up. Only one elevator worked all week and the day we were trying to move out the only one we had wasn't working but the did get it fixed so we could get the stuff out. The hot tub was never available. This place should be taken off the list, torn down to build a new place in what could be a beautiful location. It is too old, totally uninhabital with so many problems it is putting good money after bad and a really bad name to RCI/Wyndham. Please contact me about this awful place!

Don't Even Sit Thru Sales Pitch

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
In Vegas at Silverton got suckered into 90 minute RCI timeshare pitch for 3 day free future stay and $150.00 giftcard. 4 hours later the torture ended. The kind and lovely things they said to us turned hostile. They turned into angry monsters. They hinted at the fact we wasted their precious time. They separated us and began badmouthing the other party.

Aggressive, tortuous sales pitch with intervals of reaching out to sales pitch upgrade. Don't buy a time share.

You will be stuck -cannot sell it later down the road. They only accept transfers of title. Very good customer service, however their RCI's costs of exchange rate don't match a selected hotel's average daily rate, which causes misunderstanding at the time of paying the hotel bill.

Now we just want to get rid of this time share - however, we will be losing out of the investment, plus paying attorney costs to assist our exit from RCI. But is worth the freedom considering other less expensive, but quality options out there with the assistance of travel search engines.

Paying for a blatant lie!

We'd settle for a refund of $12,000.We've had no response from our many customer service contacts about the lying sales tactics and cancelation of our timeshare contract. We have also purchased a resort stay/cruise package and have not, as yet, received any information about that purchase, so we cannot use it! RCI has unethical sales practices --BEWARE!

Original review Oct 09, 2019
We were already platinum members of Wyndham when we went to a presentation at Vacation Village, Weston, Florida. We were staying there because we weren't able to get a reservation for the time we wanted to stay in the Ft. Lauderdale area Wyndham timeshares. We told the RCI salesman this information before he started his sales presentation. He told us that, even though we had access to RCI properties through Wyndham, we did not have access to ALL of the RCI properties - he told us that, if we bought RCI through him, we'd receive a RCI resorts book that would have many more locations to choose. I asked him to show us the RCI book that he was talking about, but he didn't produce one. We took him at his word and bought Vacation Village timeshare property. But the book of resorts that we received for buying the RCI timeshare was exactly the same book that we were already receiving through Wyndham! There were no additional resorts. Ever since we found that we'd been lied to by our salesman, we've contacted RCI to report the shady sales practice of the salesman -- and to be released from our timeshare purchase. We've phoned and written several times, with no positive results. We would never have bought the Vacation Village timeshare if we hadn't been lied to by your salesman! WE DO NOT WANT THE RCI VACATION VILLAGE TIMESHARE! And we've been punished for several years now, paying for this timeshare that we were wrangled into buying! We are disabled senior citizens who don't have money to throw away -- and we certainly don't want to be victimized by disreputable sales people! WE CANNOT GET ANYONE AT RCI TO ACKNOWLEDGE OUR DISTRESS OR TO HELP US! WE CERTAINLY DO NOT FEEL THAT WE'RE BEING HEARD! CAN ANYBODY AT RCI HEAR US AND HELP US?! Terrible Experience Three Times/What A Mess

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have a one week deposit that is pending verification with RCI from my home resort Peppertree Tamarack in Mirror Lake, Wisconsin Dells. I was chatting on line on two separate occasions with RCI Employees about the pending verification of the maintenance fees on my home resort and that it was paid on July 8 roughly 3 and 1/2 weeks ago.

They insisted that I contact Peppertree to send verification which I did and Peppertree said that RCI needed to send them and email requesting verification. Nobody from either company could help me out and didn't want to talk to each other about my situation and I'm the CUSTOMER for both these outfits.

Finally I contacted Customer Service from RCI by phone and that person couldn't even send an email to Peppertree requesting payment verification. "It wasn't their responsibility" he said. I asked what am I paying RCI for?

He said he was sorry but couldn't help me out. It was my responsibility to have Peppertree send RCI the verification and Peppertree said it was RCI's responsibility to email a request that did I paid my maintenance fees.

SO FRUSTRATING. I hung up the phone and will have to deal with it another day to try and get a vacation planned.

Reserve Membership/RCI fraud

Still no response. I informed the Better Business Bureau, they tried contacting Reserve Membership, and they too never heard back from the company. The company may or may not be out of business -- their location closed and their website is closed, but I still get...

Original review Apr 14, 2019
In October 2017, I went to a presentation by Reserve Membership/Fiore Travel. They lied from the very start about what I'd get and how much I'd pay, and I was set up with an RCI card.

I was told I'd only be paying $42 a month; instead I was charged $4,500, and as you might imagine, it's been very difficult to make payments. I've tried contacting Reserve Membership to sell my membership or get my money back. They won't do the latter, but for the former, they directed me to timeshare selling companies that don't buy their packages, or they said they'd sell it themselves but it might take six months.

Well, I waited that six months, and no response from them. I was lied to and ripped off from the start, and the financial burden is killing me.

Absolute Waste of Money

The first (and only) time I used RCI I booked a Cost Saver tour of the UK and Ireland tour in September 2019. At the time of booking I said I did not want to use my points as the discount I was going to receive using the points was next to nothing.

When the transaction went through my points were used and I was charged for using them. It's so ridiculous because the cost of using the points was as much as I was going to save using them???

Well for the next 4 months I tried to reverse this as I had it in an email that I didn't want to use the points and it was a complete crap show. As others have reviewed phoning in was just a nightmare!! On hold for long periods of time and being transferred around was common.

I even emailed H10 whom we bought the time share off of with no results. My experience was so bad that I'm seriously thinking of cancelling the trip and eating the deposit.

All that I can say is stay clear of RCI and H10 as they are only out to scam funds from you and the customer service is worse than horrible!!!

Insult to injury was where we bought the time share was Ocean Coral and Turquesa my wife had jewelry stolen out of our room. Her fault for leaving it in her suitcase but really disgusting.

Horrible Treatment of a 20+ year customer

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My husband made a reservation for our summer vacation. I realized that it was the wrong week. I went online and attempted to change the date. Since I don’t normally do this I couldn’t figure out how to do it. I called customer service and spoke with a rep who helped me change the date. At the end of the conversation I specifically asked if I would receive a credit back for my initial exchange fee she said yes. Well we never got it. So first my husband called and they were completely rude and then I called and received a rude rep named Teresa and her manager named Nora (employee Y4) who basically told me I was lying. In the end they would not issue me the credit. I think the entire thing was a misunderstanding and sometimes because you are dealing with a very long term and loyal customer you just do the right thing. But I guess RCI doesn’t do that. They just keep taking your money. HORRIBLE customer treatment.
